Mary Beshay

Mary holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from York University, specialising in Global Political Studies.

Mary is a graduate from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University. During her time at Lakehead, Mary collaborated with her student community, worked in the Newcomer Legal Clinic, and volunteered locally. As a recipient of the Justice Abella Award, Mary was recognized as the law student who is most likely to positively influence equity and social justice in Canada or globally upon graduation.

Her experiences have shaped her strong commitment to improving access to justice, empowering minorities, and using the power of narrative and storytelling in her advocacy.

Outside of her legal practice, Mary is a passionate writer and author who enjoys crafting new stories over a matcha latte in her favorite local cafés and playing volleyball with friends.
